Major I Official Rulebook — 2026
Tournament Overview
The Major I season will consist of a Ladder / Pre-Playoff period followed by the Major I Official Tournament.
- Ladder Period Concludes: June 22nd, 2026
- Major I Official Tournament: June 25th–28th, 2026
Pre-Playoff / Ladder Rules
Rosters & Team Creation
- Team rosters are capped at 4 players.
- Teams may be formed at any point during the ladder period up until June 14th, 2026.
Match Format
All Pre-Playoff matches will be Best of 3 (Bo3) series. One division down, will start each game 2 goals up. Two divisons down, will start each game 5 goals up.
Ladder Point (LP) System
Teams will earn Ladder Points (LP) throughout the ladder period.
LP Rewards

Scheduling Rules
Match Limits
Teams may schedule up to 3 matches against the same team during the Major I Ladder period.
Match Requests
- Captains may open a match request.
- When a request is opened, all captains will receive a notification.
- A match becomes pending once an opposing captain accepts the request.
- A match only becomes officially scheduled once all 8 players confirm attendance.
No-Show Rules
- A team is considered a no-show if they are more than 15 minutes late to their scheduled match time.
- “Late” means all 4 players are not present in the lobby.
- The opposing team has final jurisdiction on whether to enforce the no-show ruling. Both teams may still agree to play regardless of lateness.
Seeding & Tiebreakers
Playoff seeding will be determined in the following order:
- Total Ladder Points (LP)
- Match Win Percentage
- Game Win Percentage
- Head-to-Head Result
Head-to-head results are determined by goal differential across the teams’ series against one another.
Divisions
Division placement is completely determined by GWL Administration. Teams may be placed into divisions at admin discretion.
Major I Official Tournament
Tournament Dates
The Major I Official Tournament / Playoffs will run from June 25th–28th, 2026.
Tournament Format
The Major will use a Double Elimination Bracket.
Match Format
Standard Matches
All tournament matches will be Best of 5 (Bo5).
Grand Finals
- Grand Finals will be Best of 7 (Bo7).
- The Winners Bracket Finalists will begin Grand Finals up 1-0 in the series.
Substitutes
No substitutes are permitted. Only officially rostered players may participate in matches.
Administrative Authority
GWL Admins reserve the authority to remediate disputes, enforce competitive integrity, interpret unclear situations, and resolve issues not explicitly covered within this rulebook as they deem necessary.
